EVER in my life, I just finished reading a novel, the WHOLE novel
Ok. I admit. I hate reading. I have fits when I have to read course books, manuals, directions, or anything. Usually when I was asked to read a novel for an English Class, I either did not read it (heard the story from friends who read it) or read the cliff notes for it. But this novel, The Real Cool Killers was not very long, only 160 pages. It was about a murder and detectives were trying to find out who killed the white man. They also had fake Muslims in it who were blacks but posing to be Muslims, the name of their gang was The real cool Moslems
Anyway, at the end, a guy was arrested for shooting blanks and a girl who he meets for a few hours (who’s the actual killer but no one knows except her and a police man) goes to give her food. She asks him if he has a girl to take care of him and he said no, would you become my girl? She says well, I’ve done some bad stuff and by the time you come out of the jail (6 months), I’ll be a mother…He answers That changes my decision. We can’t wait any longer and should marry right away. I think that was very sweet
But I still hate reading Who likes/dislikes to read?
I love to read articles and essays by great writers (George Orwell is and will always be my favorite). I like to read features and human interest news stories by journalists (just knowing that everything you're reading actually happened makes it so much more interesting and astonishing). :)
As for novels, Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger is the greatest book I've ever read. I don't think it can get any better. I also enjoy American Classics (To Kill a Mockingbird, The Great Gatsby, etc.)
Our next novel that we'll be reading for our American Literature class is called "Into the Wild". It's a true story about a man that left all of his belongings and his home to live in Alaska. He kept a diary and talked about his life in seclusion and his struggle for survival (eventually, the guy died, but his notes and info from his faimly/friends were used to write a novel about him by some other guy). I heard it was a pretty good book from others that had read it last year, so I'm looking forward to this.
KK I want a party from Uncle falker…not you Actually I want a party from Uncle Falker and Uncle Stalker
**Sidz **There’s no message for anyone
Sara I won’t ignore you in my thread I am like you. I may read a book if I am interested provided it is not assigned to me. The minute someone assigns it to me and I have to read it, I dont’ feel like reading it
Moti You like reading because you are an ABCD I remember reading To kill a mocking bird and The Great Gatsby but I have no idea what I read in them. I have forgotten
ohh man You don’t know what you’re missing out on. Those are CLASSICS! Did you catch all the symbolism in them?
Personally, I liked To Kill a Mockingbird much better than The Great Gatsby. I watched the movie “To Kill a Mockingbird” starring Gregory Peck  just last week!
Moti I personally wouldn’t wanna read “To Kill a Mockingbird” because from the point of a view of a Shikra, I find it mean and inbird (inhumane) to learn about new techniques of killing my brother (another bird)
