It will be pronounced as Mahd when read separately, while every name includes whether “do paish” or “do zer”.. you read the rest of the names?? Mashoodun, Aaqibun, Qasimun… but when you separate it with the flow, they are pronounced Mash-hood, Aaqib, Qasim…isi tarhan the names Shaaf and Haad includes Do Zer doesnt mean they will be pronounced Shaafin and Haadin… same is Mahd…
Re: For the attention of KKF
Example with the names of Allah, Qudusu, Salamun, Azizun, Ghaffaru, Qahharu… while the names when separated are, Al-Qudus, Al-salam, Al-Aziz, Al-Ghffar and Al-Qahhar. Hope it is cleared now ![]()
Re: For the attention of KKF
maiN ne to vo kahaa jo English meN neeche likhaa hai…Ghaur se dekhiye…MEHDI likhaa hai. hai na? ![]()
Re: For the attention of KKF
KKF aap itne baray hoke jab bachho wali harkaten karte hain to dil kerta hay sar peet loon… ![]()
Re: For the attention of KKF
maiN baRaa? lol…vo kaise?
are baba, in asmaa-e-Husnah se jab NOON niklataa hai to jo bachtaa hai vo ism-e-Husna hotaa hai jaise AHmadun kii noon nikaalne ke ba’d Ahmad bachtaa hai…isii taraH:
Hamidun se Hamid
MoHammadun se MoHammad
Shaahidun se Shaahid
so, isii taraH
Mahdin se Mahdi
Khair, merii aql-e-naaqis kaa hii qusoor hogaa agar aap is baat ko nahiiN samjhiiN to. ![]()
kkf is right, we also loved this name and my sister wanted to name her son Mahad. We thouht it was pronounced as it is so we named him Mahad. My mother was not satisfied so we inquired from qari sahab and he told us it’s Mahdi not Mahad so we changed the name.
Queen you are also right about do zeer and do paish but if you look properly i think there is a zabar on meem not on Hay.To is tarah agar aap is ko separate bhe read krna chahen to Mahd bny gy not Mahad or Mahd aap pronounce ni kr skty is liye is ko Mahdi parhty hain.
Re: For the attention of KKF
Ok, I’ll ask some Aaalim too.
Aap ny bohat acha explain kia hy queen ko smjh a jaye ga.waisy mery cousin ny apni beti ka name Mahdiya rakha hy or wo theek hy Mahdi sy nikla hy.
Re: For the attention of KKF
just one more question, so what about Aaqibun and Mash-hoodun? Why they are pronounced as Aaqib and Mash-hood,
why not Aaqibu and Mash-hoodu??
Re: For the attention of KKF
I saw Mahad on baby names website and the meaning was great/nice which sounds iffy to me.
is Mahad a word even in Arabic or Urdu or Persian?
Re: For the attention of KKF
i haven’t heard Mahad name…if you write this name in Urdu Script then we’ll know exactly what the word is…
…Mahd or Mahdi is an Arabic word…internet often times is NOT always a great source when it comes to Muslim Baby names and their meanings.
Re: For the attention of KKF
nice to know that … thankoo ![]()
yes please, do ask and lemme know what he has to say in this regard.
shukria. Mahdiyah naam to munaasib hai aur achchhaa bhii ![]()
Arabi qaa’ide se to aisaa hii hai jaisaa aapne likhaa magar ham Urdu waale AHmadu, Aaqibu nahiiN kahte…some African names are like that…i’ve heard AHmadu name.
Re: For the attention of KKF
Urdu hijjay are meem alif (maa) hey daal (had) Mahad.
like maha but in the end the alif is replaced by daal.
yep I dnt trust most of the meanings that’s why wanted to confirm cz great/nice sounds too strange.
We have been told by qari sahab that Mahad means gaud (lap), not a good meaning
