I am selling a brand new wedding lengha. Taking photos for this post is the second time the skirt and shirt have been removed from the box. The duputta has never been completely removed/unwrapped (just as much as can be seen in the picture).
It was custom made by a boutique in Lahore. After our initial meeting, they specially made a few kaam samples based on my ideas. The work on this lehnga is dabka, thread, pearl beads and swarovski crystals.
It’s for about a size 6-8 UK. But the lehnga can actually fit size 6-10 because of the adjustable waistband.
Blouse – Off white crinkle chiffon lined with off-white self jamawar [Measurements: Shoulders 13”, Bust: 32” Waist: 26” Sleeves: 10” hem circumference]
Lehnga – Off White crinkle chiffon with a full skirt of silk jamawar banarsi underneath (which is also lined). I searched countless shops in Lahore looking for banarsi with gold, silver and copper threads.
[Measurements – Length from waist to hem – I’m 5’2” and was wearing 4” heels and it still trails the floor ]
The work is on either side of the slit and around the bottom on the lehnga, of which there is a slight train.
Duputta - Full sized bridal duputta in off-white crinkle chiffon with a 2.5” border around 3 sides and 5” on the 4th side.
Also includes a matching clutch type bag.
I paid 50,000Rs deposit for the lehnga and 5,000 for the banarsi in Aug 2008. And 50,000Rs remainder in Dec 2008.
Hence the cost to me was just over £800 so sensible offers in this region are welcome. Especially considering that it’s more new than buying a lehnga off the rack that has been handled by customers.
I know shirt styles have changed a lot (I was planning on wearing this with the duputta style that was in fashion back then that comes around the front covers most of the shirt). So if you’re interested but the shirt is not your size or style, I can suggest that it can be sent to one of GS’s trusted home based sellers so they can copy the work exactly but make a new shirt to fit your requirements.
I think it would look good with a longer shirt as well.
