Thanks to Sara for her inspiration, but here is my successful version:
you can use boneless, but I prefer haddi waala for the flavor.
1 full chicken cut up into small pieces
1/2 jar of marinara pasta sauce or tomato basil pasta sauce
2 tbs butter, 3-4 tbs canola oil
1 cup milk
1 packet rasoi magic or parampara butter paneer mix (this is the key)
some heavy whipping cream (if you don’t mind the fat, or for dawaats)
In a heavy bottomed pan, melt butter along with the oil and add the pasta sauce. Bhuno on low-med until oil separates, then add chicken and bhuno for chicken is a little cooked, mix packet of masala with milk and pour over chicken and stir well, add 2 cups water and cover and cook for 30 mins. Done!!
