Eyes partially closed while I recite the holy Quran was a daily ritual of the lady teacher(Ustanee) who used to teach Quran to me in those hot summer afternoons nearly 14 years ago.
Yes its true, while my Molvee was on leave for 6 months a lady teacher used to teach me Quran. She was formally known as “Ustanee” in all our relatives, she taught the holy Quran to most of our family.
In her mid 40’s then, she was a very quiet, temperate, and kind teacher. A few years ago her husband had died which had forced her to be the sole breadwinner. Her family comprised of a terminally ill son and an autistic daughter.
Time moved on, the girls she used to teach became mothers, she started teaching their daughters and sons, day in and day out from door to door Ustanee walked long distances to just to make ends meet.
Every now and then I used to see Ustanee at any of our relatives house, teaching their children. She frequently visited their house to collect Zakat, or to get a bottle of Rooh Afza for Ramadan. On weddings she used to scavenge for half eaten bones and collected them for her family. Mostly when people jilted her for coming to their house and asking for food she used smile and say “For my kids…”. Her dream was to send her daughter to a school for special children and get her son treated in a good hospital.
Day before yesterday on a very rainy evening Ustanee walked her last steps. While on her way back home with medicines for her son a speeding car driven by a teenager killed her. The car hit her at 100 Km/hr, the teenager tried to flee the scene but dragged her body 100 meters with the car, Understanding that the body was stuck under the car the teenager quickly abandoned the car and ran off.
Passer-by’s quickly overturned the car and recovered the body.
She leaves behind a grieving daughter and a son who is suffering from Blood sugar.
Inna Llillah hi wa inna aleheh rajaoon
Pakoray, as a teacher she had amany righst and u have duties
I would recommend that you provide some help to her family at a tough time like this. Could be emotional, financial whatever.
I also do driving some times rash , what will i do if i hit some one, this thought make me afraid and i pray from God Allah save me from this situation and other as well.
Innalahi wa inna elahi rajeeon
I read a hadees that said something like when u die only 3 things go with u -
the prayers of your children
any charity that is given in your name
and any knowledge that you have imparted
May Allah grant her jannat and may all the knoweldge she has imparted come to good, ameen
did that happen in pakistan? do u personally know the family or did you copy and paste the information from somewhere? I am asking this because I would like to help by some means.
Just a few points…
1. By “Blood sugar” I meant diabetes, sorry! My mistake.
2. I have not copy and pasted this.
3. I have helped the family in all the ways I could.
4. I have also floated the idea among my relatives that they should continue paying ustanee’s salary to her family although she has passed away.
Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayehee RaajiuN…
I still remember the death of my High School Math teacher… it had affected me and my colleagues and none of us could comprehend why cuz at the time, we reviled his severity… but I still remember crying.
That’s a really good idea – may Allah give all the families the opportunity to reciprocate in kind.
May Allah bless her soul. Hope the kids are fine. Sometimes we are so selfish, moaning over little things. I hope Allah looks after the kids and gives them sabr, and hope u and ur family help em out as much as u can. Mashallah shes an example for us all.
