You Don’t Belong…
You don’t belong to me nor I to you,
You’ve come into my life for a purpose Divine;
You’ve touched my heart in ways I never knew,
Yet you don’t belong to me, nor I to you.
So often along this journey called life,
We look upon another who has joined us on our path,
As someone who in some way can help us
Instead of seeing it the Divine Way,
They’re just a companion for today.
If we approach each person who joins us on our path
With hearts seeking another to somehow help us along,
Our hearts become closed, they beat to a rhythm
That perhaps, just perhaps, is not the Divine song.
So if this moment as I walk along the way
You join up with me for this journey called today,
May I simply see the blessing that He bestows upon me,
Is the simplicity of thy companionship, nothing more, nothing less,
Then indeed, we shall both be blessed.
