My father was super strict growing up, like one of those military dudes. No lovey dovey conversations etc…never a hug or anything like that, hug my dad LOL I can’t even imagine, just on Eid I guess.
When my dad would come home we would all just run away to our bedrooms, hmmm i guess that isn’t really nice, but we were afraid of him. However hindsight being 20/20, it was for the best, as his kids didn’t end up becoming drug dealers or losers. All got educated and made something of themselves.
He always gave me good and practical advise, esp regarding work education etc..but there was always a barrier, like I could never joke around with my dad or share deep problems.
If I wanted to have a heart to heart conversation I’d always turn to my mother.
