A guy would handle rejection more easily without his whole family knowing about it, the safer option is to ask the girl herself as Nomica said. Plus what sane guy would send a rishta without ever having talked to the girl? What if she turns out to be the complete opposite of what he imagined and backing out would cause further embarrassment to both families? Asking out a girl or talking to her does not suddenly make a guy non-shareef and unworthy.
Anyway, whatever floats your boat…at this rate I’m sure you’ll accept the first rishta that comes your way.
