i have recently finished with my FCPS General Surgery and am currently in Lahore. I am planning to move to UK for FRCS…and i applied for PLAB expemption via british council in response to which, they have asked me to do a one month clinical attachent in any NHS hospital in general surgery, after which i will b given the exemption..
i tried to contact various hospitals but have not succeeded yet ! I m travelling in last week of May to London and wish to start with the attachment from June 1 ..
anyone..HELP !!
Re: for DOCTORS:clinical attachment in a NHS hospital..help !!!
hi
im dr raza here.well m currently in uk doing attachmnt.seeing ur msg i wanted to answer that,if its not too late 4 u,i hope.well sitting in pakistan ur best option is to send ur CV to various consultants in UK by email.to find the appropriate consultant go to this link (http://www.drfoster.com/consultant/welcome.asp). its better if u quote in ur CV the mailing address frm within UK(like of any of ur friends) as writing the mail address of Pakistan directly warrants a negative reply.
Alongwith ur CV attach a covering letter stating u seek a clinical attachmnt in the department (of the consultant).if u req i wud also write u a sample of covering letter.i hope this info is of help 2 u.
Allah hafiz
