For Desert Fox - Hinduism

Lollypop was lumping Christianity in with Islam, saying that two of the largest world religions are monotheistic - that the spread of Christianity is as important as the spread of Islam, in the sense of eliminating the Pagan religions. I was arguing that modern Christianity is not such a positive thing from the Muslim standpoint.

Without wanting to butt into this ‘sacred’ discussion, may I ask astrofan, as to where did you get your figures? I mean 33% christians and 22% muslims in world population??? What about the rest? How many are atheist, buddhist etc? Is there any website from where you picked it up? How acurate?

I hope, I am not side-tracking your arguments. Keep going.

I tend to agree with astrofan on this particular point. Though, again its a matter of relative nuisance value. Quran has stated it very clearly [5:82] "...and you will find the nearest in love to the believers (Muslims) those who say: "We are Christians." That is because amongst them are priests and monks, and they are not proud."

Maybe this is true that the spread of cristianity was important for Islam because the people probably understood the concept of one god easier and them muslims just had to teach them thier ways without changing them much!
About cristanity is not positive from muslim point of view. yes that is true it is not for the benifit of Islam but muslim scholars have debated with lots of cristain scholars and a lot of them(cristains)have converted or accepted Islam as sort of the truth!
As you said before numbers are not always right and lots of cristains are starting to belive jesus was not the son of god! They have made thier own Churches(sects)!
