This was taken either on Feroz Pur Road or Link Road.
Lahore is invaded by these ‘Chand GaRis’. I heard that’s because their fare is cheaper than Rickshaws. With an open back they do look much more airy; and they’re hardly as noisy.

If it was in Hyderabad Daccan... It was suppose to be called as Motor cycle rickshaw,
they have lodz of cycle rickshaw, cycle instead of motorcycle fitted, and moreover, they have man-rickshaw as well, man pulls the wheels...while another man sits on the seat!

Really, it's called a Qing Qi? Well I was told it's a chand gaRi. Oh well.

Qing Qi was the chinese company who exported the original models to lahore, the yellow ones. It seated "4 people". Lahoris....being lahoris copied the thing in about 3 hrs 23 minutes from converted yahamas. Pakistani version, one in the picture, is called the "chand gari". You can squeeze 5-7 ppl on it :p.
So this is how it looks like! Pretty innovative actually! For a second im thinkin whats hayaa doing in the middle of the road taking pictures. Phir dekha kay yeh to gaari kay andar say kheenchee wi haiy
There were some guests at my place last night and this uncle was talking about this QQ thing and he’s like theres a name theyve given these things i cant remember.. so i go chaandh gaaRi?? and he goes yeah!! and im thinkin to myself yay hayaa
Wonder how customizable is the motorcycle part. Like if you can replace it with a 800 cc Suzuki. Or a Harley. Just a thought!

Irem those are the black ones you're talking about. They have seats in 2 rows like in those suzuki canvas top vans. Those rickshaws only run in the lines area and you're right they have a parking lot near the astabal outside pats.
They can seat 6 people but theyre normally loaded with 16 :D And they are a bit bigger than the normal colourful rickshaws. A family friend once told me that they were introduced in the 70s for the city's garbage collection. Guess they ended up being rickshaws! I'll try to post a picture of one if i can get my hands on any.
