how/where did you get your bridal dress made? did you order it from a website? have a relative get it made and send it from pak. did you or your mom go to pak yourself to get it made? was it an original, and if so did anyone just trust the designer to mail the product to usa without problems? if it was a copy, who took care of making sure that its made exactly as you demanded.
if you in-laws got it for you and they are not living in pak, do you know how they got it?
lastly, approx how much did you end up spending on it and were you happy with the final product??? (this question kinda stems from the horror stories of aunts who claim to get $2000 dresses and the product they bring is actually worth $200)
Re: for all the gals who got married in us/uk/places besides pak
My barat dress was chosen by my aunts and my dad...since my mom and I weren't able to go to Pakistan. In the end it was a very nice dress, they claimed it cost 100,000, though i can't be sure...but it definitely didn't look cheap, it was very heavy kaam all over the lengha and duputta....
i think if i had gotten to chose it myself i would've gotten something totally different, or at least made sure of a few things......but somehow I like my lengha and think it was prefect for me.
I've bought my lehnga, mehndi outfit and all my dowry clothes from utsavsarees.com and they are amazing
