If you mean either soccer (footy)or American Football (for which footy is not a proper slang term), then yeh a lot of pakistani and south asian ppl play the sport.
There may not be a lot of them around in the professional leagues but they're around n some are coming up the ranks. Don't be too surprised in the near future.
dunno about ozzie rules footbal, although there are loads who enjoy rugby.

i dont see pakistanis playing it..or even interested in it..
but interesting to know its not only cricket they admire/play.

depending on your location, you won't find the majority playing it on too regular a basis.., it's the atmosphere that contributes..
you don't see chinese playing cricket or blacks playing table-tennis too often either do you..?
take hockey for example, the hockey culture almost dictates one to start out as a youngster and skate around on the weekends from your early days and get drafted somewhere..
for pakistani and other south asians, most of them are used to seeing cricket, and knowing the the selection process as either non-existent, unorganized or through personal contacts..which unfortunately it is..
but even so, I know a lot of pak-canadians are now getting involved in hockey nowadays, great to see..
