Fool's Day

BISMILLAH.

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,

‘Woe to the one who talks to make the people laugh and tells lies, woe to him, woe to him.’

-Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him)[al-Tirmidhi]

Why celebrating April Fool is a sinful act?

  1. It is an innovation….

The Holy Quran says:

“Say (O Muhammad to mankind): ‘If you (really) love Allah, then follow me (i.e. accept Islamic Monotheism, follow the Qur’aan and the Sunnah), Allah will love you and forgive you your sins’”

[Aal ‘Imraan 3:31]

According to a version of a Hadith narrated by Muslim, “Whoever does anything that is not in accordance with this matter of ours (i.e., Islam), will have it rejected.”

Celebrating April Fool simply means following customs of kuffar (disbelievers) and mushrikeen (polytheists). Hence, it is absolutely non-Islamic act….and not only this, the Holy Quran condemns those so-called believers who follow the enemies of Islam!

  1. Just Foolin’ Around?

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, *“Truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. And a man keeps on telling the truth until he becomes a truthful person. Falsehood leads to Al-Fajur (i.e. wickedness, evil-doing), and Al-Fajur (wickedness) leads to the (Hell) Fire, and a man may keep on telling lies till he is written before Allah, a liar.” *(Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith).

April Fool is a celebration where lying constitutes an important part of the event. Although people say that they’re just “joking”, it is not proven anywhere in Shari’ah that we can joke around if it has elements of “falsehood” in it.

  1. Lying in Jest…

Please read following Ahadith and insh’Allah you will learn something important…

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar said:* “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘I joke, but I speak nothing but the truth.’”* (narrated by al-Tabaraani)

‘Abdul Rehman Ibn Abi Laylaa said: The companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) told us that they were travelling with the Messenger of Allah. A man among them fell asleep and some of them went and took his arrows. When the man woke up, he got alarmed (because his arrows were missing) and the people laughed. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “What are you laughing at?” They said, “Nothing, except that we took the arrows and he got alarmed.” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “It is not permissible for a Muslim to frighten another Muslim.” (Narrated by Abu Dawood, Ahmad).

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: ‘Whoever says to a child, ‘Come here and take this,’ then does not give him something, this is counted as a lie.’” (Narrated by Abu Dawood)

May Allah guide us all on the straight path [Ameen].

sinful act??

I dont think we have to make such a big deal out of everything. In every occasion we MUSLIMS have to find something , which goes agaisnt it.Why not just enjoy the day in a light manner , provided no one gets hurt, and its all in good fun.
