My sister ate some fried fish today and has food poisoning. She has thrown up three times within the past hour and a half. She’s taking a long flight back home tomorrow. Any advice pre-flying and for during the flight? Should I buy over-the-counter medication for her?
Re: Food poisoning + Travel
Some advice from another guppie (not me) who didnt want their name to be mentioned:
ask her to take a kaopectate or a peptobismol
drink some pedialyte
have yogurt and bananas
Re: Food poisoning + Travel
ya buy her otc meds and give lemonade and sprite kind of stuff don't give her anything heavy or anything from outside or old/frozen food. Maybe make her fresh daal chawal with podina raita.
I hope she feels better!
Re: Food poisoning + Travel
hey u need to ask a doctor for this.In flight it is very easy to het dehydrated( the dry air ),and with the food poisoning it'll double the fact....if she continues to vomit...she shud tak a tablespoon of clear liquids...like sprite orother clear flids like ORS or pedialyte..every few minutes...If she can keep those down then she shud continue with clear liquids within hours then bland diet like rice or toast. Something like Zofran is needed for Nausea and vomitting not the anti diarehheal medicines like keopectate...make sure she has a case of indigestion not really food poisoniing(the bacterial kind) cuz u have to take antibiotics for that others wise its pretty harmful...try WebMD or something or treatment ideas
