food for students

salam…im going to be moving into my apartment at school…and i know im going to be busy…

do you guys have any suggestions about healthy, fast, and easy meals i can prepare. i REALLY don’t want to rely on fastfood all the time. thanks

-Buy a big bag of salad from the local grocery store, a dressing that you like & some garlic bread.
-Fry some boneless chicken and cut 'em in small stripes/pieces.
-Boil some eggs & cut 'em in chunks.

Toss salad with the boiled egg chunks and then put in the fried chicken & pour some salad dressing. While you eat it, put the garlic bread in the oven.

You can fry chicken for 3-4 servings and keep it in the fridge for next time, same for eggs. Salad usually lasts 2-3 days as long as you keep the bag air tight. Drink orange juice with it all, no soda :nono3:

get these things:

wheat or any kind of bread
mayonnaise
mustard
pickled jalapeno
American cheese
and some salad(chopped onions/tomatoes/cucumber etc)

Take bread, put a slice of cheese on it. Spread vegies and then spread some mayo, mustard and jalapeno on top. Your sandwitch is ready! :D

Buy LAVASH bread (afghani bread), put cheese and tomatoes on it and other veggies and bake in oven. Makes a yummy homemade pizza.

In my days, my favs were
ramen noodles
a sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes and cheese
chicken patty sandwich
shami kabab sandwich / aloo ki tikkia sandwich * you can make these i advance
pasta with vegetables(the quick meal suggestion in the frozen section of your supermarket)

mmm.. everything sounds good...will have to try...

two minute cup noodles, tomato and mushroom soup with bread sticks, those spanish and chinese two minute rice varieties.. toast jam..sandwiches..salads.. cream cheese with bagel.. fruit salads..

i do prepare chicken paste from before and make subs with the paste..

pappadums (pappar)..

and you can make lot of vegetable bhujyas using tin vegetables..

here's some ideas :)

1) SAMOSA SANDWICH

keep a stock of samosas from the local desi store in ur freezer. take a samosa, aloo or qeema, microwave it, squish it, put it in the middle of double roti, add ketchup or any other sauce if u want and eat

2) GHEE AND CHEESE SANDWICH

take two slices of bread and warm them with ghee or cooking oil in the tava

then add two slices of cheese, let it melt on the tava

make the sandwich

this is really really tasty

3) POTATO

take a potato, wash it, microwave it, cut it from the middle, add any filling u got and eat

4) MAGGY NOODLES

always have a stock of these from ur local desi store. they taste better than the amreeki noodles. if u have some chilli garlic sauce and imli sauce of maggi as well. put that in while cooking. u can also add cut up mixed frozen veggies. this cooks in max 15 mins.
