Food for Skin

Someone told me drinking a lot of water keeps the skin fresh. I don’t think so! I drink almost 2 Gal. of water a day and doesn’t do jack. I still get scales & stuff.

So, what are some other things one can drink or eat to hope that the skin will get better?

ahmaddry skinjee

Try drinking 2 gallons over a period of 16 hours. If you drink all at once, you 'll only be wasting time at the loo

Dunno about skin, but it keeps lots of other body organs well-tuned. Especially if you eat salts. Salts absorb water, and it creates more work for the kidneys. Drinking more water will help kidneys to work easier. Something like this. You have to check.

Plus drinking a lot of water is definitely a must for anyone who has gout, as water dissolves uric acid crystals, which cause gout.

So, even if it means a lot of trips to the loo, its probably a good investment in your body to drink as much water as you do.

Just use hand or skin cream. I never heard of the water bit.

Do the scales appear only on your elbows, feet and knees?

AHMED GEE…i think water is the bst solution for dry skin…

u should eat alot of fruits and veg…

and every night before going to bed put lotion or oil on ur skin…

water does make a HUGE difference

but apart from water:

  • exercise
  • balanced diet at regular times, with lots of fruits and veggies
  • low stress
  • regular sleeping routine and getting enuf sleep

g’luck :k:

btw roz subbha ko uth ke have a glass of lukewarm water mixed with honey one tbsp and 1 small lemon ka juice. does wonders for ur whole body and skin :k:

waisay some ppl have very dry skin genetically, i have a friend and very dry skin runs in her family, no matter what she does her skin is realllyyy dry, so if thats the case u shud consult a dermatologist…

hope the prob gets solved tho, i hate having dry skin :bailan:

The dry skin condition runs in my family too. I think the usual remedy is oiling or moisteurising you skin. But do you eat fish? Apparently eating fish at least two times a week helps to moisturize dry skin and hair because its rich in omega-3 fatty acids. Or you could buy cosmetic skin products that have these acids.

Give a try to some good moisturizer ahmad jee.Though water is very good for skin but your skin might need some extra help :)

drinking lots of fluid is good for the skin…:k:…doesnt let u dehydrate and keeps it moist…i think!..:konfused:

Liquids are good for the skin and so are Vitamin E supplements. In addition, keep your skin clean by washing it often yet at the same time, refrain from drying out your skin with over-usage of soap and other harsh cleansers.

Eucerin is one of the best moisturising creams out there, approved by dermatologists and fragarance free! Try and see the difference.

ahmadjee, there's so many factors that influence the dry skin..

instead of using soaps..switch to gels and foam.

use moisturizers/lotions..

you should also scrub the dry skin..usually after washing the part with gel..put scrub..and dry brush..and then wash it with warm water..and then put moisturizer..

this is what i found for you from my remedy note book: For those who suffer from extreme dry and flaky skin a body scrub made of gram flour, a tinge of honey, a dash of cream and some turmeric powder should work fine.

i also read that people who suffer from dry skin should use humidifier at home no matter how the weather is..and they should cover up when they go out..coz skin exposed to wind gets dry quickly.

oh yeah..and you can get a pot of parrafin wax..and use paraffin on the dry skin..it helps..
