Urgent help

Young children can be molded more easily than older kids. If your daughter "always" wants outside food.......then maybe you need to change the eating habits for your family. You can decrease the number of times you eat food outside. At first your daughter might complain..........but eventually ghar k khanay ki aadat par jayegi. When she complains.....be strong....don't get food from outside (because it tends to unhealthy anyway).

I don't have any recipes but here are some suggestions:

1) chicken nuggets

2) chicken cutlets

3) chicken with noodles

4) grilled cheese and chicken sandwich

5) Chicken pizza

6) Grilled chicken on skewers

Other things for lunch:

Sandwiches (grilled cheese is a favorite), pasta, soup, veggies with dip, stir-fry

Re: Food for kids

I would like to share a recipe of chicken roast which always turns out to be extremely tasty and also it is nutritious. I'm also a beginner in the filed of cooking but I found this recipe very much easy.

One whole chicken
1 cup Yogurt

2 spoons of Vinegar or lemon juice
one tea spoon of Red chilly powder
1 tea spoon of Salt
1 spoon of Oil
half tea spoon of Aginomoto
1 tea spoon of crushed black cumin
1 teaspoon of black pepper powder

Method:

Mix all the spices in yogurt and pour it on the chicken pieces. (don't forget to make small but deepcuts in the chicken pieces). Place it aside for minimum half n hour

Take a wok and add the marinated chicken, cover it. Let the chicken cook on medium heat. let the water dry.
When the chicken is done, add the oil and fry it for few minutes (don't stir too much)

serve it with fries.

Re: Food for kids

For fries if you soak the freshly cut potatoes in a chilled water (before you fry) for some time then they would turn out crispy.

Re: Food for kids

You don't have to cook fancy dinners Sam_queen

My niece is just a little older than your daughter. For lunch she doesn't like to have a big meal, so we just put the food infront of her and she nibbles away at it until she's full up. Try to do the same with your daughter, put the food in front of her and she will eat it - she may be fussy at first but persevere.

For lunch she gets:-

Pasta or sandwiches with some sort of salad on the side - usually a few chunks of cucumber, couple of cherry toms, carrots etc.
Banana chopped up
Pot of yoghurt (sometimes she dips the fruit in to the yoghurt like you would with a chocolate fondue and it makes it a little more exciting for her)
Fruit juice

Re: Food for kids

I remember when we were little, my mom would take the chicken leg/drumstick piece out of the salan, rinse it with water, and then she'd give it to us. Children normally don't eat spicy food. Susitute biryani with pulao, marinate chicken with yogurt, little lemon juice, salt anf blk pepper and cook it on stove top, chicken corn soup...you can chop vegetables really small and they will like it, vegetable chicken cutlets, both sweet and savory french toast, baby vegetables for salad, chopped fruit, yougurt, etc.

i think she means as in quantity, 1 whole chicken cut in pieces.

its chicken ROAST so this is supposed to be whole chicken.

Re: Food for kids

for lunch you can do grilled chicken nuggets/fish fingers with some steamed veggies
jacket potatoes with cheese
chicken sandwiches
potato croquets and home made pizza healthy style with some salad - kids love salad
take botiyan and aloo out of salan, wash and feed
pasta with grated cheese on top
spagetti (another kiddie fave)
lasagne
stir fried noodles with chicken
chicken wraps

all as mains, then add a yogurt some chopped fruit and nuts as dessert and you have yourself a healthy lunch.
