Fondant Flowers ..

So we use fondant to make the cakes look pretty …

Practically speaking, would you eat the entire fondant rose if it came along a piece of cake ? :konfused:

I went to a party and noticed that most people kept the fondant flowers and decoration aside but ate the icing flowers , perhaps coz its nicer to eat cream with the cake ..

So the question is , would you eat the fondant flower?

Re: Fondant Flowers ..

**Would i eat the fondant flower ?.. No … its way tooo sweet

Even though fondant looks nice on cake i think its a waste as no-one likes eating it :bummer:

in my house we make/prefer buttercream/ cream icing on top instead its more yummy :)**

Re: Fondant Flowers ..

I don't make fondant cakes because I hate eating it. If I do I leave the fondant out. Fondant is so expensive it feels like a waste but I can't get myself to eat it. So, no I would not eat a fondant flower...sometimes I don't even eat buttercream flowers (too sweet).

Re: Fondant Flowers ..

Hmmmm , what if the flowers were made of flavoured fondant :hmmm:

Would you still not eat them .. for example , lemon flavoured or strawberry flavoured etc

Re: Fondant Flowers ..

They are so chunky and big though....so I don't know if the flavour would help. Notice though even professionally made fodant cakes are only covered with fondant but the decoration is made with buttercream etc.

Re: Fondant Flowers ..

even thinking about this is making my teeth hurt :/

Re: Fondant Flowers ..

I've never eaten fondant before :(

Re: Fondant Flowers ..

ok so the general concensus is that Fondant flowers is a waste of time and effort but icing flowers are acceptable :hmmm:

Thanks everyone ..

Re: Fondant Flowers ..

Fondant flowers are really very decorative .It is a nice idea to eat the whole of it.I like your idea.I would try it once.It is flavored enough to make the cakes look pretty.
