Salaam, there are some people who claim to follow just the Quran and say that is enough for them and that the Sunnah of Muhammad PBUH is not a source of Islam.
I’ve thought about converting to this sect myself but I have a few questions. I would appreciate it, if somebody belonging to this sect could answer them.
The Quran tells us to pray Salaat but it doesn’t say how the Salaat should be performed. Do you people pray Salaat and if yes how?
The Quran tells us to pay Zakat but I don’t think it specifies the amount, how do you pay Zakat and how do you decide on the amount?
Do you fast during Ramadan?
Do you go on Hajj and how do you perform the pilgrimage rites, does the Quran say how the Hajj should be carried out?

If they explained that, they wouldn't be Quraneen now, would they...
The Kalima is not simply made up of Laillaha-Il-Allah'...There's also Mohammad-ur-RasoolAllah...It wouldn't be too appropriate to take out Mohammad out of the Kalima now, would it...
If the Quran represents the 'Laillaha-Il-Allah' the Ahadith represent the 'Mohammad-ur-RasoolAllah'...
Each complements the other...
Rather unique spelling of your name...But correct if spoken the way it's supposed to be...
In addition to what Brother Lajawab has stated, I will add the following.
These people are deviant. They take Prophet Muhammad (saw) just as a post man. That his entire ‘job’ was to deliver the Quran and that’s it and that he now doesn’t matter.
One cannot separate Prophet Muhammad from Quran.
Quran asks us to Believe in One God, Prophet Muhammad (saw) showed us how to.
Quran asks us to pray, Prophet Muhammad (saw) showed us how to.
Quran asks us to give Zakat, Prophet Muhammad (saw) showed us how to.
Quran asks us to perform Hajj, Prophet Muhammad (saw) showed us how to.
Quran asks us to fast, Prophet Muhammad (saw) showed us how to.
Just are just the basics, I could go on and on.
Please before you commit yourself to this deviant sect do some research about them.
[Al Hashr 59:7 Yusuf Ali tr] What Allah has bestowed on His Messenger (and taken away) from the people of the townships,- belongs to Allah,- to His Messenger and to kindred and orphans, the needy and the wayfarer; In order that it may not (merely) make a circuit between the wealthy among you. So take what the Messenger assigns to you, and deny yourselves that which he withholds from you. And fear Allah. for Allah is strict in Punishment.
Salaam, thanks for replying, I agree with you brothers. Funny how the 'Submitters' and the likes have chose to ignore this thread :p
Ye have indeed in the Messenger of Allah a beautiful pattern (of conduct) for any one whose hope is in Allah and the Final Day, and who engages much in the praise of Allah. – (Quran 33:21)
Can you please care to answer the brothers questions, as I believe you are the best person to answer being one who doesn't accept A'Hadeeth period, and only accept the Qur'aan.
Al Hamdulilah! You have made the best choice of your life. Just a few more Ayahs to confirm the importance of following the Sunnah of the Prophet [saw].
"And whatever the Messenger gives you, take it, and whatever he forbids you, leave it. And fear Allah: truly Allah is severe in punishment. “[59:7]
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): "He who obeys the Messenger has indeed obeyed Allaah . . ." [4:80]
"If you differ in anything among yourselves, refer it to Allaah and His Messenger, if you believe in Allaah and the Last Day. That is best and most commendable in the end" [4:59]
Allah showed great kindness to the believers whom He sent a Messenger to them from among themselves to recite His Ayats (Signs) to them and purify them and teach them the Book and Wisdom, even though before that they were clearly misguided. [3: 164]
Please refer the last Ayah [3:164] quoted above and see that it says that the Prophet (saw) teaches us the Book and Wisdom.
This means the Prophet (saw) taught the Book [Quran]. The Wisdom means the Sunnah of the Prophet (saw).
the authenticity of Quran is guaranteed (even though the interpretations vary) but the authenticity of hadeeth is not. One has to use one's judgement and to understand the spirit of the saying rather than taking it literally.
not taking directions from it at all, or following it blindly are both wrong in my book.
Ahaadess that DO NOT contradict the teachings of QURAN are all VALID and MUST be followed. But those that contradict, should NOT be followed blindly. For example, there are Ahaadess that say the age of Hazrat Ayesha (RA) was 6 at the time of nikah. Quran clearly tells us that the age to get married is after puberty. Then how can this hadees be authentic?.

I accept Ahadith as a form of deriving historical knowledge of time past and have always stressed the need to cross check/verify that information scientifically (contents judged by narrator's character don't cut it).
I believe Qur'an to be a document from God... note I have NO WAY to prove it's authenticity.
Believing in the Qur'an has led me to conclude that it has sufficient guidance for all human beings. The prophet's responsibility was to deliver the message and be a warner. He did his job.. it's upto us to follow his lead and read and understand and follow what he delivered.. The Qur'an.
Lastly I consider myself to be a follower of "God Alone" and not "Qur'an Alone"... there is a difference... it would take a massive educational effort on my part to edumacate the author of the post while trying to respond to his questions so I wouldn't care... he can search my posts for class preperation though.
