please share ur views on the issue of world population.
here is what i have to offer on this.
over-population in this world, is a topic which is studied in epidemiology, to medicine, sociology, politics, civil engineering, economics and environmental studies among other disciplines.
why people forget that in order to replace them selves, they only need 2 kids.
the world is full of hungry and orphaned or neglected infants and children.
why do people do this?
it is beyond belief that making babies gives a sense of security.
the down side is:
mother’s health and life span suffers due to too many births &
father’s and mother’s economic strain to provide for the young
i am not saying, people or i should decide not to have kids.
adapting a child is a very good thing.
having one’s own gives that sense of passing on the genes. and that is also understandable.
but why 5 or 10 or 15 instead of just one or two?
why?
more educated couples, marrying later in their lives, managing full-time careers and other engagements like social good
cannot afford to bring more lives in this world which is already burdened by so many people’s sustenance and survival.
i feel that people have somewhere skipped the
‘care’ component in this talk on having kids in the first place.
stable families, well grounded, generations on the same piece of land, natural living, a natural system of life and death span are possible still, if people believed in balancing the populations within their families and their communities.
as a mother, and a father, no one can see the pain and suffering of their child/ren. the heart ache of not being able to become good protective and trusting parents, is a bit too much for someone who does love kids, but the 24/7/365 duty of a mom or a father will haunt such a person who is actually afraid of a tiny life coming and staying around to grow up and move this world her / his way.
the way teenagers are today.
the manner in which temptations in the cultures today, overwhelm the simple minds and instill unhealthy experimentations in the lives of the youth, possibly taking away their lives, cruelly.
it is far better, to be able to think through, whether we are able to take care of children in the world, which we know of today.
rest Allah knows. and it is almighty Allah who said that all sustenance is from itself.
nonetheless, on a larger scale at societal level, and on a smaller scale at individual level, we have the obligation to first be strong enough to bring a child in this world and only raise one or two to replace the parent couple in the population, possibly leaving the world with a lot more good.
