Before 5 mins, I always thought folic acid was for pregnant ladies only :eeks:.
So how many of you, unmarried or non-pregnant ladies take it and how is it? Any side effects?

I take an extra tab of folic acid along with my multi vit.. no side effects that I have experienced.

Some people recommend that all sexually active women should be taking it, even if they are on birth control, in case they do accidentally conceive. For those who are planning on starting a family, they recommended to start taking folic acid 3 months before they actually start trying to conceive. I used to take folic acid separately from my multivit, but have since switched to a prenatal multivitamin that has sufficient folic acid so dont take it separately anymore. Have never experienced any side effects

i get folic acid from veggies and fruits :) I dont trust vitamins/mineral tablets.
