i was trying to figure out how to make folders private or password protected, and instead i ‘hid’ one of the folders.
anyone know how i can ‘unhide’ the folder and make it appear again?
secondly, is it possible to make certain folders password protected? and if so, how?
To unhide folders, open up any folder (i.e. documents), click on tools, options, and then select "show hidden files" or something similar (I am on vista and can't tell exactly what it reads on xp). Once you see the folder appear, right click on the folder, go to properties, and uncheck (unhide) it. Then you can go back to tools, options, and check "'do not show hidden files" if you'd like.
thanks shikra
got the folder to appear again. i don’t know if it’s the same for vista, but once you see the hidden files again, the colour of the folder is very faint. probably meaning that it’s a hiddne folder. how would i go back to having it like it was originally?
2nd, for ignoring the answer I have already given to your question in my previous post.
3rd, Yes the color of the folder is different than “shown” files to differentiate between hidden and not-hidden files in vista as well. Now let me quote myself:
