perform a chkdsk operation.
- press Win+R [Win key is the windows key next to left ALT]
- type ‘cmd’ & press enter
(this opens a command prompt window) - type ‘chkdsk /f /x c:’
(if prompted with a message regarding not able to lock…, press Y & reboot the system)
So essentially if there is a file system corruption, the chkdsk utility will attempt to repair it BUT it’s also possible it won’t be able to recover your folder and you may lose your data.
