ermm … must you guys turn the food heaven into a nightmare

now its a known fact that men only have one thing on their minds , fortunately, us ladies have been blessed with a more varied focus in life :snooty:

returning to the topic , trying out new recipes surely brings back the interest in cooking … but not for long .. eventually just being there in the kitchen can be a tiring experience … someone mentioned to me the other day , that she gets on the phone with friends / family while cooking … that sort of keeps her busy and less bored …:hmmm:

What do you reckon ?

Re: Focus group - Bringing back the fun in cooking ...

Make something nice and invite some people who will appreciate eating it. When you get those wows and compliments , that will make your kitchen experience worthwhile
Other than that you can try:
1. Reading something interesting . But please do not read a mystery in the kitchen , otherwise you might get lost in the story and start a fire or ruing the dish you are cooking.
2. Now a days they sell kitchen TV hook it up there or setup a portable one .
3. Listen to music you like
4. Invite a friend or neighbor over and chat with her while cooking.
5. Ask the whole family to gather around kitchen table and have some quality time with family while you are cooking a meal for them.

Re: Focus group - Bringing back the fun in cooking ...

some very valuable tips by Mirch .. thanks so much for sharing ..

In my home my mother used to ask us every alternate week what new dish we should try at home ... and we would come up with all sort of ideas that mom would then put in action ... I think involving the family members in the kitchen decisions helps tonns in getting the motivation and inspiration ...

a neat clean , organized and bit spacious kitchen also helps.
put some plants , herbs pot in kitchen.
try out new recipes.
if yur spouse likes cooking too then both of u can have good time in kitchen.
inviting people who have same interest in cooking as u , or may be just share yur new kitchen experiment with friends on phone.

i love cooking and trying out new recipes , but last time when i was in Pakistan our kitchen was small with very less counter space. in whole year i only tried 2 new recipes. cooking is no fun when u dont have proper place.
