Fobbed of by GP

The process to see a GP is maddeningly difficult in the UK. Firstly, the appointment system where you have to explain to the receptionist why you want to see the doctor and they sometimes deny you an appointment with them deeming it's not valid enough for an appointment.

Secondly, the GP, they fob you off as "oh it's just your genetics and something that is prevalent in your community".

Oh then I'll just suffer then shall I the doc? So sorry for wasting your time, I and my genetics will never burden your doctor office again!.

You literally have to act like a prosecution lawyer and present your case in order for them to perform any tests or give treatment.

Or have the verbal dexterity to challenge, persuade and influence why they should atleast do something

Canada is so amazing, you sneeze and you can go to emergency and they will spend 10s of thousands on you. Tiniest little problem, my wife used to take kids to emerg. You can order whatever tests etc.

Getting to a new doctor is indeed quite complicated and messed up, but in my experience once you have done your first visit and the doctor's office has your record, it becomes far easier. I had the worst experience when I moved to a new city a few years ago. I happened to come across this group of doctors at a public place a few times, and they would sing praises about how great the medical system is to the uninsured. I thought they would know the system best and must be speaking the truth so I took the email addresses and phone numbers of a couple of them just in case I needed some advice. They appeared so willing to help, only that’s why I got the courage to ask and save their contact information.

A few weeks later I needed to get my first doctor’s appointment in the city and wanted to know the procedure. I am not at all picky about doctors and I was 100% insured. I only needed to find out the procedure to get an appointment so I emailed and later left voice messages to those doctors I had met but none of them replied. I think they thought I was uninsured. The moral of the story is that people who know the most about a particular thing, sometimes lie the most about it too to look cool and trendy.
