Fob is someone who leaves there homeland and who comes to the US.

Nerd is a person that studies a lot.

ex. I am a nerd. I spend my whole day in the library. But I am not a FOB. I was born and raised in the US to FOBs from Pakistan.

Nerd is someone who gets made fun of during his academic years and after hire those losers to work under him/her :D

FOB= Fresh off the boat. Someone who has recently immigrated and so still has the homeland-style attitude, way of dressing, etc.

Nerd=Someone who is very 'book smart', often in a field like mathematics or computer science, but is socially awkward.

oh and sometimes people call heterosexual people fags too, but it's generally not intended as a compliment- it means you are acting like a gay person.

I would suggest you not use that term. Either way, it is meant as a put down. And put downs get you nowhere, and are mean in nature.

Sheen don't worry about slangs. There almost meant to be mean in spirit. It's probably better that you don't know what these things mean. Useless information, really.

Also, Avoid people that use terms like that excessively. Has someone been calling you these things? Don't listen to them. There really not worth your time.

for americans, fag is short for faggot.. (derogatory term for homosexuals) as well as (mostly in england) a cig..
