Flu

How long does it take to go away without any meds?
Do you get it every year?
How many of you take flu vaccines?

I get it twice a year on average. I have a really bad one right this moment.
I NEVER take flu vaccinations. Our bodies are stronger than we think and a tad bit of sickness is good every now and then.

I think it’s funny that every thread finds a home in the Cafe forum because the more relevant forums (such as Health and Fitness) don’t receive as much traffic. :hehe:

The flu can last 1-2 weeks. Given my place of work, I tend to get hit (once or twice) by whatever bug is doing the rounds. I have never gotten the flu shot ( I am needle-shy ). The last flu-like symptoms that I had (fever, chills, sneezing) thankfully subsided after 2 days and then I was fine. I took painkillers for the fever and headache and I took this herbal drink called Joshina …not Joshanda. It’s a black liquid with licorice-like taste and you mix 1 tablespoon of it in a small amount of warm water. Bottoms up. It doesn’t taste good but I feel it makes a positive difference. It could just be in my head, too, but I’m okay with that.

My flu usually lasts 5 - 7 days. But that’s the intense part in talking about where you have fever runny nose headaches bad throat. I avoid medicines and soctors visits as much as possible.

Same here just balghum and head cold, I always Gargle with Warm water and pinch of Salt, that clears the blocked sinuses and the throat, as I recall it has been three years ago I got it last.

Also Elderberry works, mine lasted two weeks :bummer: this time, there was very little fever only got as high as 98.8 deg F
