ok so my doc has been asking me since second trimester that i get one but i didnt want it as i have heard too many horror stories of autism in kids…but fast forward to this time when im only 2-3 weeks away from popping the baby out, i ve started thinking of getting one…the one that is thimersol free…so ladies did any of u or ur friends get it while being pregnant? how was/is ur experience? n if u r pregnant ,do u plan on getting one?plz share

I didn't...i have heard ppl get worse rebound flu after the vaccination and in pregnancy our immunity is already low. So I never got myself the influenza shot.

Yes i got one during pregnsncy because that's the only way my baby is protected for six months!! I made sure household members got one too!

And yep it was thimerosol free!

Exactly, newborns can't have the flu shot, so they will only get the protection from you. The threats of autism have been proven false, from what I know.

I also had my daughter during the whole H1N1 scare and got that shot as well.

I had it,and I was pregnant when the whole H1N! fiasco was going on.I got thimerosol free vaccines.I think autism was more related to other vaccines (MMR in particular) but all of that stuff was proven wrong.

You shouldn't =P
just because you get the shot doesn't mean its 100% guaranteed that you won't get the flu.
I got a shot for TB but I still got TB =p

The chance of getting the flu with the shot is less than the chance of getting it without the shot and also risking an infant whose only chance of protection is the pregnant mom getting one...!

You may get the flu after flu shot but it would be less severe than if you didn't get the shot and oh by the way please don't confuse cold with flu... Cold is our regular cough,runny nose etc, flu however is much worse and you can be bedridden for days!
