Floor cleaning???

ok its a silly question but I could use some help.. we have laminated wood floors in our house and no matter how much I mop, our feet still get dirty walking on it.. I have used bona floor cleaner, mop n glow and even water but still no luck.. I never had this problem with hardwood floors so I am thinking may be I am just not doing it right.. I mop almost every other day and still I cant have kids walk barefoot on it.. we avoid bringing shoes in but sometimes they do end up in the living area so that can be an issue but I would think cleaning will take care of it.. my routine is broom for big stuff, vacuum for dust and then mop.. please tell me what am I doing wrong?

maybe you arnt doing anything wrong... just dusty where you live.. thus the accumulation? We have the same.issue in arabia... you can mop all you want... your feet still end ip getting dirty.

Re: Floor cleaning???

1). Do not bring shoes inside... have a delegated spot for all shoes. we have a closet by the door where we leave all our shoes. You could have a shoe rack or something. Sometimes you must but that should be the exception, not the rule.

2). You have to sweep 1st because otherwise you will just be spreading the dirt around and once the floors are dry, they won't be clean at all. I use swivel sweeper and it takes less than 5 mins to do the whole house. sometimes vacuum spreads dirt on hard floors instead of picking it up.

3). Use white vinegar and fabulosa mixed in hot water to mop the floors. Vinegar gets rid of stickiness and fabulosa smells sooo good!

4). Once a month, I use Hoover hard floor cleaner to get the floors looking brand new and shiny.
