**PESHAWAR: Thirty people were killed and many were reported missing due to sweeping floods and heavy rains in Khyber Agency Tehsil. The Pak-Afghan highway had to be closed for vehicular traffic as heavy stream of rainwater passed across it. **
The heavy floods washed away a hundreds of houses, rendering thousands of local residents displaced. A number of roads were damaged and heavy loss to property was witnessed.
Situation is worsening in different areas of district Peshawar as floodwaters had entered into houses in Potohar, Reigi, Shahi Bala and adjoining areas forced people to stay at homes.
District government has called army and helicopter help to cope up with the situation. Chief Minister Frontier Ameer Hyder Khan Hoti said that full support would be given to district government.
