Re: Flexible timing or late sittings
Very good question Muqa ..
I have worked late hours because it was the need of the business .. but frankly speaking after all these years of hard work , I feel its useless to put in long working hours .. The labour laws that protect employees from this very vice are seriously in place for a reason. following is why I feel long hours are useless:
they mess up the work-life balance and one feels overworked and tired and easily frustrated with the job.
Long hours occasionally are fine but if made a habit of, they turn you into a workaholic. The strategy should never be work longer .. it should be work lesser but smarter.
The longer hours one works , the more office resources you are using up, eg lights, air con / heating / electricity on the computers , phone bills etc .. in essence you are costing to the office bills ..
if you make a habit of working long hours, bosses start taking it for granted , try leaving the office at normal hours after weeks of working late and you will see eyebrows raised !
So yeah, its just not healthy enough for anyone to kill their life and energy in working long hours !
Bosses never get happy, how much effort you put. They are just like bewafa mehbooba, who never appreciates 100 good things you did for her, but taunt you for a single mistake
