Not really related but I thought I'd give your thread a little traffic.
I was asked to leave a 'sisters circle' today and was accused of been a 'wahabi'. And do you know what? I was not even offended, my views just get more militant as I age.

why were you asked to leave. Cause you are wahabi or you just criticized something that were doing or reciting and they git offended?

It's been getting heated for the last few weeks to be honest lol. Long story short, I must be a wahabi because I think people should have read the Quran at least once in their lives. It might have also had something to do with the fact I laughed when someone told a story about seeing a chair levitate. Tough crowd!
I don't really like to pigeon hole myself, it depends on the issue really, for some issues I'm hanafi, others malaki, salaf etc.

I know exactly what sort of crowd you were dealing with. I've been dubbed wahabi too, in fact my whole family's been dubbed wahabi many times because we don't follow the cultural norms here in Pakistan.
i have a POV on almost everything, but i dont enforce it on people. since i have energy that is why i show enthusiasm for my POV, but people take it literally.
i am flexible, but I never demanded people to like-dislike me.
There are some things I am flexible about and some I am not. I am not flexible about what forms the basis of my beliefs. I don't preach and I respect beliefs different from mine (though, not always the people who have them :p). When it comes to marriage, I'd like someone who matches my basic fundamental beliefs. I spent years trying to figure my fundamentals out and I am not changing them until I get enough good reason to. I am especially not changing them coz someone would like me better like that.
i hate conflict of any kind so most of the time rather than feel like crap the whole time and not have any fun at all, i would rather give in and meet halfway, if not even that, then most likely i would totally give in. if i love the person most likely that would happen. Although.....curse the person that is stubborn to that extent not to even compromise or care one teeny tiny bit, such a person shouldn't even be in a relationship
I think when we're all lovy dovy, our views change. We may have never wanted someone before and be completely against it but as soon as mr.prince charming and I are in love.... we want the same things. Atleast for a little while until we're back into our senses
I'm pretty staunchly anti-marriage. I think marriage is just a social dressing up of a fundamentally biological relationship, and more often than not, it does more to limit us than it does to empower.
ok im all flexible and unconditional when it comes to husband wife relationship. maybe because he is sweet enough to be obeyed thats why. I dont have an idea if husbands were not cooperative how wives would manage. As for me, me and my husband never have a debate or argument over a single issue ever.

I,m hard core Muslim.....and that comes with alot of baggage
different ppl/situations require different schools of thought...and one can never truly blatantly speak ones mind..
but flexibility I,m the one who follows
picnics, parties, weddings I dont mind going along with the crowd the main thing is to have a happy time
and not fuss about being numero uno …
p.s. I think thats why ppl feel they can rely on me
