hey guys.. i have an a380 and i need to buy a really good flash.. first time im getting it so any advice would be appreciated! also please advise on tungsten flashes also.. im a big fan of yellow light.. and price range too please ! thanks =D
also im more into portrait photography and have normally been working with natural light. i dont like the harshness of my on camera flash so i thought bouncing it off walls etc could work better for me
Get a Reflector for Portrait Photography. For Portrait or Outdoor Location shoots type photography, it’s essential. For portrait photography what lenses are you using? What lens you use makes a huge difference in how the colours come out in the photograph since, you are working with natural lighting. A good lens makes all the difference. I usually use Nikkor 70-300 mm or 50 mm f/1.8 for portraits.
As for flashes that work well with A380, i’ll help you. Though I would like to ask you, it’s interesting that you chose a Sony DSLR, so may I know why? Sony has an external flash unit which is really good. It’s model number is HVL-F20AM and it enables users to bounce light off the ceiling to eliminate harsh shadows and achieve more even illumination when shooting indoors.
heyy thanks a lot.. haha i got my camera last year and on a whim just like that one day when i went to the sony store and i had a birthday present due =p .. i knew nikon would be better but in karachi the only place to get those would be in saddar and i had no one to take me there! so i got the camera with no research which has gotten me weird questions since everyone keeps asking me why did i get sony lol.. are you a photographer??
about the lens i use, i use my standard 18-55 right now i wanted to get a lower apperture value but iv heard those are really expensive =/
so this time around i can afford either a lens or a flash although i have no clue how much each is for but i wanna be a bit more thorough in my research now
also about reflectors, i had no idea where to get them so once i was doing this shoot for a friend and i made the reflectors with foil!
Yeah usually lower the aperture, the more expensive the lens. Also the higher the focal length, the more expensive the lens. Oh so that’s why you went for a Sony. Well have you taken few pictures with your Sony? I am curious, I want to see how the photos come out.
Well the standard 18-55mm that comes with cameras is a really good lens. It’s multi functional. The one that came with my D60 was a wide angle one. Nikkor is amazing glass. I did a lot with that D60 and 18-55mm before I moved on, so just make do with that lens for now.
For some reason flash units are expensive, I don’t know why though. Problem is I know nothing about Karachi, if you were in Lahore I would have given you a number, you just call them and tell them what you want and they deliver it to your home. I got my tripod and Nikkor 60mm Macro lens that way in the summer!
Oh yeah, I am a professional photographer working for Gulf News, I am a graphic designer and a journalist. Basically a media person. I study too, on my second Bachelors degree these days.
In RKS (rangon ka shajjar) you can embed IMG tags from external sites like photobucket or flickr. You don’t need Paklinks photo uploader for that. Post your photos in RKS.
