Read about Flamenco dance of Cordoba (Spain) and there it was mentioned that the songs of Flamenco still reminds you the same rythm which created when a group recites Quran or rythm of Adhan.
Tried to google some videos and came up with this:
I think the tune so resemble like a group of Madarsa students reciting Quran or a congregation in church (there is this priest dancing in the video as well)
Re: Flamenco tunes are inspired from Quran recitation?
You are right, it does sound like it.
But then flamenco has little inspirations from arabic indian etc..
Plus church has its own chanting.
Now if they do a flamenco treatment to their chanting, I logically could sound like arabic.
I think.

Flamenco got influence of gypsies (who migrated from India and still have so many common words from Punjabi and Saraiki like Pani, tatto (garam), etc) and persecuted Arabs after 16th Century Spain. some historians believe that the word 'Flamenco' is actually Arabic 'Falah Mangho 'absconder farmer' referring to lower status people who went underground after 1492 persecution of Muslims and Jews.
