Suspended Test captain Salman Butt and pace bowlers Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir are due to appear before the three-member tribunal in Doha from January 6-11.

The trio were suspended by the ICC in September while touring England with the national team after a report in the News of the World newspaper alleging they had taken bribes to arrange for no-balls to be delivered in the fourth Test.

The Pakistan Cricket Board said in a statement that the ICC had asked for Waqar and Afridi to attend the hearing. It said the pair would attend either in person or through a teleconference.

Afridi is returning home after a Twenty20 series in New Zealand but Waqar will be helping the team prepare for the first Test.

Re: Fixing: Afridi, Younis to appear as witnesses

I wonder why ICC is not calling Zulqarnain Haider. He should be more than willing to tell everything he knows.

Re: Fixing: Afridi, Younis to appear as witnesses

^ Does he have anything to tell apart from his asylum application. To date there is absolute silence from him. All this loser wanted was asylum in UK.

Re: Fixing: Afridi, Younis to appear as witnesses

I agree

^ you forgot to add “” in the end of your comments

Re: Fixing: Afridi, Younis to appear as witnesses

You are right. But who knows. He may be called in later. It would be really interesting if he does, because he was also making allegations about first class cricket in Pakistan.
