  1. did you overfeed them?

  2. did you put them in fresh tap water?

  3. did you buy all the meds for water from the pet shop and used them properly?

You are doing some thing wrong. I lost only around 6 fish in two years till about a month ago when due to outbreak of disease I lost 11 in two weeks which included some of my prized fish. That hurt.

Do you check the nitrites and nitrates on a weekly basis? That is the main killer, especially in a new tank.

Hareem we fed them 2 times a day exactly as the guy told us, water was tap water yes! The guy did tell us some of them will die in the first few weeks, we respectfully lay their bodies in our garden :hinna:

Are they tropical fish. If so fresh tap water is like slaughtering them with a knife. :smack:

The guy is talking rubbish. You should have run the tank for about three weeks monitoring the nitrites and nitrate level and once the nitrate spike had died down than you should have introduced fish.

We bought 1 fish and it died coz of fresh tap water. Now we have 3 fish for more than 3 years and alhamdulilah they are fine. One of them got ill but survived coz we gave the meds on time.
