Fish oil pills?

Hi guys,

Anyone use these for their skin? If so, how were the results?

Re: Fish oil pills?

Omega 3 is brilliant, good for everything really. But all the capsules I have tried are gross with a fishy after taste.

Try this Essential Omega-3 Tablets | MYPROTEIN™ it’s bearable and has a good quality of ingredients.

Re: Fish oil pills?

they make your skin softer for sure..because of the omega 3s..and make your skin glowier..but dont overdo on them..and try to get them from a good brand with no toxins.

Re: Fish oil pills?

Y not just eat fish? Isolates always have some negative effects associated with them (even vitamin pills).

Re: Fish oil pills?

^ You will only get side effects from vitamins if you overdose, other than that if your body does not need the excess it will not harm you, just pass through.

Re: Fish oil pills?

Oh I remember my mum making us take seven seas (cod liver oil) pills. Never got an aftertaste though, they were pretty much tasteless.

Re: Fish oil pills?

the only ones that arent harmful and "pass through" are the water soluable ones, all the fat soluable ones like (A,D,E,K and some others) will damage the liver if taken in excess, having said that, I dont know how you can overdose on those "one a day" pills, you're only suppose to take ONE a day...

with regards to fish oil, I dont take them for my skin in particular, i take them for overall health/bodybuilding etc, usually 2-3 a day spread throughout.

actually these are the ones I'm talking about :D, except I usually go for non-branded fish oil (seven seas cod liver still have vitamin A,D,E, and cant take another multi vitamin if you take these) and either seven seas multi or some other one (forgot the name of it but its cellulose based and releases slowly, rather than gel based like seven seas)

Re: Fish oil pills?

is glycerol halal ? its in the ingredients' list of Seven seas cod liver oil.. and they don't specify if the product is suitable for vegetarians

Also which fish oil in boots are halal? I've been on their site since forever, cannot find any.

Re: Fish oil pills?

they are a must havee for sure..!!!
great for skin hair n nails and also for prevention agaist cough cold n flu

Re: Fish oil pills?

If anyone has problem with big pills or burping, try Fish oil powder.

Search for ground Flaxseed or coated capsules. But there is less benefit from already ground Flaxseed.

Cheaper products are from Krill Oil.

Re: Fish oil pills?

Omega 3 from fish and plant are diff types. EPA, DHA VS ALA...there is a a reason why fish oils are recommended over flaxseed. Also, yes don't buy already ground flaxseed not because it has less benefits but because it is high in oil content and will go rancid. BUT one must ground it before ingesting it or it will just pass through the body without providing any benefits.

Re: Fish oil pills?

and if grinding flax seed fresh each time is a hassle, you could do chia seeds. no need to grind, has almost the same amount of ALA, and possibly better for you.

Re: Fish oil pills?

^ Sughar loug ..

How do you take Chia seeds? In a smoothie?

Krill oil is great too. Much closer to the actual source of omega 3's found in fish - phytoplanktons, algae, etc. Less toxins, easy to take and feels good (because you can kind of quantify the daily requirements as opposed to the seeds :P).

And btw aside from skin and general health, it's excellent for your brain since 60% of our brain is fat. :P And considering that cell membranes of our body are made of this stuff - it's a good supplement to take to help everything work smoothly.
