Once i was watching my friend's cousin's wedding video, and i saw a girl whose one side of face was all white spoted and it went till her hair and they were one side white too....I asked my friend about it and she told me, this had happened becuz she ate some specific Fish and consumed milk after. Don't know how much truth is in there, but what i saw was pretty bad side.....so after that i would rather avoid taking the combination.
There is definitely something taboo about fish and Milk. Not sure what it is.
There is some kosher law regarding fish and milk.
it's a strang thing, have asked couple of ppl about it and they can't answer it either......tried to look it up in books, net, juornals.....................nothing.
What Shirin says is true, i think. I often eat fish-burget with milkshake, and it never gave me problems.
BTW lekkerbekkie, mosselen, garnalen (all Dutch food) are great!!!!
well, no definite conclusions as of now, only my hypothesis that perhaps it's a cross-reactivation because of which this disease is triggered.
I have tried to find the English translation of the punjabi/urdu word: 'phoolberi'. or something like that. but haven't found it yet
Phoolberi is Leucoderma in English. An uncle of mine has had this by having a food combination of Fish and Milk. I still dont know the logic behind it but have seen quite a few examples around me.

Re: Fish and Milk
The whole milk/fish debate has origins in the Jewish religion. Jewish people are not allowed to mix certain foodstuffs together, due to their dietary laws. One such dietary law is not to mix milk and fish together. They can be eaten at the same sitting I believe but not together.
I think those that do have pigmentation disorders and so forth, are more a result of genetics than consumption of certain foodstuffs.
Re: Fish and Milk
^ They definitely eat it at the same sitting at least. They don't mix milk and meat (chicken, beef, lamb etc). Fish is considered "parve" or neutral, and they are allowed to eat them at the same meal.
Re: Fish and Milk
You can eat it at the same sitting but cannot mix them together.
Some orthodox Jews extend the meat/milk distinction to fish too, others don't. Well that is what we got taught in RS.
Possibly it could be due Vitamin A poisoning. Both milk and fish have high concentrations of it and vitamin A poisoning symptons is skin disease.
In the old days in Punjab, communities that lived near rivers used to eat a lot of river fish and drink buffalo milk.
hmmm…fish milkshake?
Animals to have a more stronger stomach/palate than humans.
