First Test-- Pakistan vs Australia at Perth (Bharaas merged)

A really pathetic and gutless display by our recognised batsmen except for Younis Khan. A lead of over 350 and this match is history as far as we are concerned. Most of our recognised batsmen got out to terrible shots and the two most experienced batsmen, Inzi and Yoyo failed to provide any leadership.

The match is Australia's.

It is only a matter of when they decide to put us out of our misery.

lemme add shoby and sami too as the only decent batsman who considering being bowlers took the responisibilty and forced the australians not to force a follow on... i guess..

I have no doubt in my mind that Sami and Shoaib saved us from a potential innings defeat by batting for so long and tiring out australian bowlers. This is why Ponting chose to bowl himself and Lehmann hoping to get them early and put pakistan in again. That did not happen and australians chose to bat again. Well done those two.

Australia will still win this match but I m hoping for some fight from our bowlers tomorrow and then from our batsmen in fourth innings. Hope Shoaib is fit.

No doubt that Younis was the only who looked confident and cautious to play everyhing on it's merit until his demise ....... useless shot

Imran Farhat -> Useless stroke
Salman Butt -> Fell to temptation, useless shot
Inzi -> Unsure about any ball bowled relatively full and he played all aorund it thinking it's an away-swinger ...... Short of confidence, which is not a good sign
Yoyo -> Useless shot with an angled bat á la Saleem Elahi
Razzaq -> had more luck than anyone else in the side , Useless shot
Kamal -> too inexperinced to cope with planned bowling
Khalil -> thought he is Langer
Sami and Shoaib need to praised as they did something our experinced and recognized batsmen were not able to do , namely stay on the wicket for almost 30over and put a decent partnership, infact the highest of the game

Top 4-5 need jootian instead of an apropriate dinner

i hope they come to play again with muchmore confidence coz the AUS bowlers were still ordinary, only our batsmen were on early XMAS trip to gift them

it was his debut after all :smack2:

i think this batting perfomance by pakistan was expected, i knew it also.and i think yasir hameed should replace farhat after all it was salman's debut against a great team, i wont blame him.

No use blaming anybody. The team lived up to expectation and batted to their potential. Just look at their historical record at WACA and see if they have done any better/worse.

This was pretty much what they would have ended even if they had batted more "responsibly". I guess this will be proved in the second inning when they will play with unnecessary caution and will still end up below 250.

abysmal batting performance, innings defeat here we come ]

I hope we can get Aussie's all out within 150. Ya Allah madad!!

No way, with Inzimam’s smartness level and Shoaib’s fitness level, we can’t do that.

Third day: They’ll pile something like 380+ (meaning a lead of 500+) and declare 5-10 overs before end of the day. Pakistan will loose at least one wicket tomorrow i.e. Imran Farhat.

Fourth day: Pakistan batting will crumble around tea time, Sami alongwith some other player will try to continue it into 5th day, but oh well :frowning:

This game really looks like gone, may Allah :swt: reverse it

**Pakistan batsmen frustrate coach **](BBC SPORT | Cricket | Other International | Pakistan batsmen frustrate coach)

Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer had no hesitation in criticising his own team’s batsmen as they were bowled out for just 179 by Australia in Perth.
He said: “It really was a disgraceful performance up front. They’re much better than they’re performing.”

Michael Kasprowicz, who was almost axed in the lead-up to the Test in favour of Brett Lee, returned 5-30.

“There’s plenty been said so to come through there and get wickets is very pleasing,” said the veteran seamer.

Referring to the double loss of Younis Khan (42) and Abdul Razzaq (21) which triggered a collapse to 111-8, Woolmer went on: "There were two terrible shots which really were unnecessary.

“We were just sort of building up a partnership. It was a very frustrating day.”

In another blow for Pakistan, Shoaib Akhtar limped off the field near the end of the day, although Woolmer said he would be fit for Saturday.

Woolmer was particularly concerned about his side’s tactics against Shane Warne, who lifted his world record tally to 555 wickets with three more wickets courtesy of some wild slogs that went horribly wrong.

“Either they fancy him and try and hit him out of the ground, or they just lose their heads at a specific stage,” he added.

Two? make it 8 mate!

I am so happy we will lose on the fourth day and not the third. Even the Bangalees were able to stretch into the fourth day last time they played in Aus.

good job Pakistan!

Actually I was happy too, when Pakistan was 56/3 or something, at least it was better than 59 all out and 53 all out.... but then that team didn't have Inzi, Youhanna.

Yaar Captain 1 tum kahi najoomi to nahi ho. itni detailed prediction. lol

The only thing good thing is that Sami and Shoaib performed well with bat and ball. They had a partnership of some 50 runs and got 8 wickets between them. :k:
And the shots offered by Younis, Khalil, and Razzaq. Why, why, why… but why… oh come on…

Innings defeat not possible now. Aussies are already batting

only shoaib.A can do a mircale now, he must bowl out the aussies for a low total, and inzy should play more responsible roll as well as yoyo.i hope that yasir will open the innings.

yasir should open ...lol

For Pakistan: They should play now for a draw… :jhanda:

For Australia: For them is still the nightmare in the hanging…should Pakistan mindset take a U-turn…
