The Government of India has invited the Lahore-based Pakistan Film Producers’ Association [P.F.P.A.] to India on June 25. Confirming the development, P.F.P.A. Vice-President Jamshed Zafar said, “We are all enthusiastic about visiting India and holding the screenings. It will be a pleasure to catch up with Indian culture and film folks in Mumbai and Delhi.”
The Association has finalized five of Lollywood’s films to be screened at the Fest. These are Sayed Noor’s DAKU RANI and MAJAAJAN, Javed Sheikh’s YEH DIL AAPKA HUA, Sajjad Rashid’s SALAAKHEN and Reema Khan’s KOI TUJHSA KAHAN.

Re: First Pakistani film festival in India

Whats so embrassing about the above films. Except for Daku Rani the rest of the films are pretty good. Firstly has anyone seen all the 5 films. We always love critizizing ourselves and feeling inferior to others.

At the end of the day like it or not but Pakistani films are a part of us. It is a shame that we have never realised the importance of Cinema which is the biggest visual medium in the world. Through films we can show the whole world what the real Pakistan is. Its the biggest tool of Propoganha.

When is the so called educated lot ever going to come forward and revive the film industry. It is unfortunate that all our governments have never promoted performing arts in our country.

Its high time that people should come forward and revive the industry instead of putting it down.

The above film festival has been cancelled by the Indian government following the recent Mumbai blasts. In fact the Indian government is also currently refusing to give visas to Pakistani artists who want to go to India. All this and the so called Indian-Pakistani friendship.

The fact is the Indians want to show Bollywood movies on the big screen in Pakistan and capture the Pakistani film market. Their main aim is basically impose their culture on us which they have unfortunately already succeded through the TV channels and pirated movies.

Its time we wake up before its too late.

The only two decent films in the last 10 years are not even on. I'm talking about Sargam and Inteha. I slept through Yeh Dil Aap Ka Huwa, most of the three hours of it.
