Also reminds me, that if you look at 1999 WC, same thing happened to Australia.

Now, you have completely lost me! I wasn't even talking about Australia. Hello!
What was argument? 92 World Cup in which Pakistan was the only team who defeated NewZealand in league match and in the Semi-Final as well. P.S Pakistan defeated Australia as well.
In WC 99, Pakistan defeated Australia in a league match.
Pakistani Tiger, you didn't lost it now... u didn't get the argument right from the beginning.
The point was that Pakistan (champions 1992), or for that matter Australia (champions 1999), did not do well in the initial rounds of world cup which they eventually won. And it really does not matter as long as they start performing in the critical later part of the tournament. This was a side comment made in response to UMAIR's "right around the time of WC they start playing excellent cricket.".
Now, read from the top down, and hopefully you will get it this time.
I kind of agree with Faisal, Pakistan will only do well when its a do or die situation for them.
Like the 92 WC, it was a must win situation for Pakistan against NZ if they wanted to get the 4th place birth in semis which they barely did, it doesn't matter which team plays well and win more matches in the tournament but the better team is always the one who takes the title.
South Africa and NZ were overall 2 best teams in 92 but the real winner was Pakistan.
Same in 96, when Windies and Australia were 2 top performers but Srilanka won when it really mattered.
Pakistan was the overall better team than Australia but they won whe it mattered the most.
I don't mind Pakistan loosing 1 or 2 matches in first round in WC but they have to win the rest, I think winning against India and Australia will be a must for them.
Pakistan consistantly loses to the better sides, we're a joke. I was the biggest and most vocal defender of the team but I weasted by breath of these fools. We should play Tonga, we may beat them and then hail our side as "threatening the Aussies"-most of our boys wouldnt play A grade club Cricket in Australia.
I swear half of the team would'nt get into Bankstown or Mossman, we're that bad. :(
