Rockstar is an upcoming Hindi Cult film being directed by Imtiaz Ali and starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. Eros International will co-produce the film with Shri Ashtavinayak Cinevision. The female lead of the film is Nargis Fakhri. The film score and soundtrack will be composed by Academy Award Winner Music Composer A. R. Rahman.
The lead role is played by Ranbir Kapoor, with whom the Eros International worked recently on Anjaana Anjaani. The female lead will be played by Czech-Pakistani model Nargis Fakhri. Other cast members include Piyush Mishra and Shammi Kapoor. The shooting began on May 2010 and the film is scheduled to release on mid-2011.
The music for the film will be scored by A. R. Rahman replacing the usual associate of Imtiaz Ali, Pritam Chakraborty. The lyrics will be penned by Irshad Kamil. The audio rights has been bought by T-Series.
