The only recognisable face in the poster is Rani Mukerji, who is a part of Karan Johar’s story. Rani Mukherjee, who has done lot of challenging roles in her movies like Balck, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Raja Ki Aayegi Bhaarat is now doing yet another off-beat role in the movie ‘Bombay Talkies’ where she will be acting as sexually supressed wife opposite to Randeep Hooda.
Bombay Talkies is the movie blended with four short stories which are directed by 4 directors Karan Johar, Anurag Kahsyap, Zoya Akhter, Dibaker Benerjee. Rani Mukherjee’s episode is being directed by Karan Johar for whom she is the lucky charm due to which Karan Johar will make her appear in his movies at least in cameo if not the lead role.
Rani Mukherjee has already acted in a similar role in the movie ‘Khabi Alivda Naa Kehna” which was also directed by karan Johar where she played the role of an unhappy wife of Abhishek Bachchan who gets into an extra-marital affair with Shahrukh Khan.
On the flip-side, Bombay Talkies also has 3 other episodes in which starts like Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Nawazuddin Siddiqui are acting. The movie will be released on 5th May 2013 on the occasion of Bollywood’s 100 year anniversary.
The trailer of the movie is just out and shows lot of promise, especially its background music sounds amazing.
