Orville and Wilbur Wright made their famous flight at Kitty Hawk. By 1908, the Wright brothers were traveling across the United States and Europe in order to demonstrate their flying machine. Everything went well until that fateful day just after 5 p.m. on September 17, 1908, when Orville and Lt. Selfridge got into the airplane. Lt. Selfridge was the Wrights’ heaviest passenger thus far, weighing 175 pounds. The September began with a cheering crowd of 2,000 and ended with pilot Orville Wright severely injured and passenger Lieutenant Thomas Selfridge dead.
The two men were taken by stretcher to the nearby post hospital. Doctors operated on Lt. Selfridge, but at 8:10 p.m., Lt. Selfridge died from a fractured skull, without ever regaining consciousness. Orville suffered a broken left leg, several broken ribs, cuts on his head, and many bruises.
Lt. Thomas Selfridge was buried with military honors at Arlington National Cemetery. He was the first man to die in an airplane.
Orville Wright was released from the Army hospital on October 31. Though he would walk and fly again, Orville continued to suffer from fractures in his hip that had gone unnoticed at the time. Orville later determined that the crash was caused by a stress crack in the propeller.
The Wrights soon redesigned the Flyer to eliminate the flaws that led to this accident.

Possibility of human error is still constant, machines are less likely to make mistakes as they don’t have brain of their own:)
it was his step brother’s aircraft, Kuber, the one who is responsible for distribution of wealth:), It used to fly only during day time. Rawan even tied all Grihas, planet gods in his palace:)
may be, but his rise poses challenge, Under him, his state is fastest growing, and soon Gujjus are going to dislodge punjabis from number one position from every development indices:(
Yes machines are less likely to error, but they are still operated by humans without brains, who fail to assess that machines are also subject to wear and tear
Now I remember watching a video of a place in Sri Lanka about Ravan’s palace. It seemed quite small to have all plantes in it
On March 3, 1974, Turkish Airlines Flight 981, a McDonnell Douglas DC-10, crashed in a forest northeast of Paris, France. The London-bound plane crashed shortly after taking off from Orly airport. All 346 people on board died. It was later determined that the cargo door had detached which caused an explosive decompression which in turn caused the floor just above to collapse. When the floor collapsed it severed the control cables, which left the pilots without control of the elevators, the rudder and the No. 2 engine. The plane entered a steep dive and crashed. It was the deadliest plane crash of all time until the Tenerife disaster in 1977.
According to the world-record of airspace incidents, Pakistan’s major plane crash occurred on July 28, 2010 at Margala Hills in which all 152 onboard passengers were killed.
Following is a chronology some earlier air crashes in Pakistan or involving Pakistani planes:
A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Boeing 707 crashed on its inaugural flight while attempting to land at Cairo airport, killing 124 people, on May 20, 1965.
A PIA Fokker F27 turboprop aircraft crashed while attempting to take off from Islamabad in a thunderstorm, killing all 30 people on board on August 6, 1970.
A PIA Fokker F27 crashes in Rawalpindi, near Islamabad in which all 26 people on board are killed on December 8, 1972.
A PIA Boeing 707 bringing home Pakistani Hajj pilgrims from Saudi Arabia crashes shortly after take-off from Jeddah airport, killing 156 people on November 26, 1979.
A PIA Fokker F27 crashes while coming in to land in Peshawar, killing 13 of the 54 people on board on October 23, 1986.
