First of all, The very first time that the Pakistanis have ever put a show they have invited the indians to take over. I don’t think this is a logical descision. It seems that the ‘india lobby’ in our country is getting stronger by the day. I don’t trust persons like mekaal, who is not even a designer to lead this team. The indians will be more than happy to ‘merge’ their culture with ours. A wedding is a country’s strong part of heritage, by deliberity allowing “indian culturual invasion” we are not doing service to our country, our image or our culture. Must I ask, WHERE IS OUR GOVT?
Bridal waves
The first–of–its–kind ever to be held in our country international bridal fashion show extravaganza has been postponed. As per original plan, the event would have been over and done with by now. The three day event was originally scheduled for March 25th–27th, but was postponed days before schedule. The reason, says Syed Asim H. Qadri, was “delay in visa formalities of the Indian exhibitors.” New dates for the event are 30th April to 2nd May. **With heavy Indian participation expected in Bridal Waves, **“the postponement of almost thirty days is due to the Indian designers’ engagement in Delhi Fashion Week, which is from 20–26th of April,” says Qadri. Bridal Waves is planned as a three-day event with a fashion show every day and ongoing exhibition of products and services related to the wedding industry. The organizers of the event say this gives them “more time for the implementation of micro plans.” And now that “visa permissions are in place,” one can look forward to seeing international talent here at home.
