It would be nice if all could share how there eid went and what were the expectations of Eidee before and after marriage.
What about the husband? Does girls family give eidee to him before and after marriage. And how much…

We did not have any expectations, we both had a fabulous day together. After Eid prayers, we went to the state fair. My parents gave both of us eidee but it wasn't an expectation.

Don't have expectations so you can be pleasantly surprised when something good happens, and not be disappointed when it doesn't.

after marriage on our first Eid, iA, i will more concentrate on what i'll give rather than what i and my 'would-be-wife' will be receiving. i'll give $1000 each to my saalis! :)

Men don't care about getting eidi. Even if your parents give him nothing, he won't mind. Your husband will be content with just a happy, drama-free Eid spent with family and friends. It's the women who tend to have expectations and then get disappointed about not receiving money or gifts from in-laws they don't even like in the first place and end up venting to the world.
If your parents give him eidi, don't expect any from his family. Eid is more about unity and letting go of our grudges, if only for this one day, and greeting others happily; not so much about material things.

yes I got eidi from both my parents and in laws, even my BIL gave me eidi separately. I actually went for ummrah in last ashrah of Ramadan for my first eid, I offered prayer in masjid e nabvi, my in laws were also wth me , I still remember I started crying at breakfast because I was missing my parents tht was my first eid wthout parents. then we travelled to makkah.i still get my eid dress and eidi from my parents and in laws both :)

I’ve been married almost 4 years and I get eidee every year from my FIL and hubby. Sometimes also from my mother. It is never expected. This year hubby gave me $500 eidee. Shopping spree here I come.

Yes, it is supposed to be for kids but some people like my FIL are OTP. He still gives eidee to all his sisters (even one that is 2 years older than him). She is 67 by the way. Wouldn't it be nice to still get eidee from your younger bro at 67? LOL!

Never had any expectations from anyone.
My in laws have always given their children Eidi, despite them now being advanced in age.
Since we hit the milestone in our marriage this year, my husband and I were gifted with $1,000 Eidi on Eid day! Their other children received $500 per couple. Each grand daughter was gifted $100 and a gold pendant from my MIL's jewelery. My son was gifted $100 plus a watch that belongs to my FIL.
My in laws never will never take Eidi from us, but will happily accept gifts during the year.

My Dad gave us Eidi this year - not sure why, maybe it's because it was our first Eid married and hubby's first Eid altogether. I don't remember that happening since I was little.

im married to the youngest son (of 5 sons) , so i got $1000 eidi from my inlaws for being the youngest daughter in law...
from my hubby, i didn't ask for anything nor do i expect anything ..we just went out for dinner!

This was our first eid after being married with the family....His parents and my parents both gave us eidi. I wasn't expecting it. BILs didn't.

I got nothing from the parents. My husband bought me jewelry, that's the tradition in his family.
