First day of Kindergarten

The first day of school is fast approaching and I am SO NERVOUS!!!

Mr. Sonu will be in the full-day Kindergarten program.

When I think about it, my stomach starts to turn. This is causing me so much anxiety. He will be the youngest kid in his class, not even 4 yet, in a class for 4-6 year olds.

He’s going to love it … but he’s growing up too fast, too soon ..

:crying:

Lunch ideas? He doesn’t eat sandwiches.

I’m taking the whole first week off of work to support him during this transition.

Re: First day of Kindergarten

Don't they offer any vegetarian hot food for lunch?

Re: First day of Kindergarten

No. The public schools here do not provide lunches unlike the schools in the UK. We have to prepare their lunches to send with them.

Re: First day of Kindergarten

What about home-made burgers, chicken strips with sliced cucumber and carrot, cheese&onion pasty or fajita?

I hope he likes the big change.

Re: First day of Kindergarten

With my kids I have noticed they are as independent as I expect them to be. He will indeed love it.

When leftovers are not there, we give ours pasta in marinara sauce sometimes & she never complains

Re: First day of Kindergarten

He has a lot of nakhray, like most kids.

He's so passive though .... I hope he does ok.

Re: First day of Kindergarten

so....what exactly are you going to be doing at home while he is in full day kindergarten? twiddling your fingers and worrying about how he's doing? not recommended at all. I would be more inclined to take some days off with him later in the year and spend one-on-one time to reward him for doing well in his adjustment.

and will you please stop dismissing my big boy? he's gonna be 4 in two months......that''s just around the corner! he's been in childcare for sometime now and he thrives there. he has a distinct personality and, from what I can see, adjusts well to any environment as long as he has some supervision.

will the school provide a warm-up service? if so then you can send whatever he likes to eat....even if it is daal/chawal.

Re: First day of Kindergarten

what does he eat for lunch right now? give him what he eats at home.

Make sure he has a good breakfast and a good meal when he comes back.

I have given everything from french toast, noodles, yogurt, even paratha and daal and I even gave them some daal and rice once.

Re: First day of Kindergarten

He will do great!!!! Midget has been in kinder with 6 yr olds since he turned 3... He is still alive... The only thing bad is... They learn stuff u don't really want me to.. From the older kids... But oh we'll... Can't protect em forever.

Lunch... Hate it. God forbid u give them the same thing 2 days in a row. Argh!

POI give my paindu roti and omlette cuz he don't do no sandwiches either

Re: First day of Kindergarten
