Soundvision Launching First Daily Muslim Talk Radio Show in Chicago

Assalamu Alaikum:
Jack Hensley and Eugene Armstrong were helping rebuild the water system in Iraq when they were both kidnapped. Their beheading was a barbaric crime. The recording of the slaughter demonstrated the inhumanity of the killers in minute detail. But have you heard
Muslim condemning this on the airwaves? No. Because we don’t have airwaves available to us.

This concentrated campaign of kidnapping, slaughter and suicide bombing is hurting Islam and Muslims while these killers are assuring a place for themselves in Hell. They must seek forgiveness from God by repenting and reaffirming their faith on the path of
Muhammad, peace be upon him. This is the type of barbarism that perhaps explains why a majority of our neighbors favor profiling Muslims Â_ 49 percent support increased surveillance of us. It is not surprising that according to the Inspector General of the US Justice Department, 28 percent of those arrested in connection with investigations related to the 9/11 terrorist attacks were reported on by their neighbors. All of those arrested Muslims were later found innocent of any terrorism-related charges. But do our
neighbors know how Muslims in America think and feel about these issues? No. Otherwise they would be standing with us as they did after 9/11.

About 1,000 talk shows in this country spew their poisonous venom against Islam and Muslims. This enhances the nightmare for six million Muslims in America, who continue to face harassment, discrimination, violence and intimidation on the nation’s playgrounds, schools and offices. Muslims today are the last to be hired and the first to be fired. Unfortunately our neighbors don’t know about what we are going through.

Last night my friend Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens) was detained for being on a Terrorist Watch List. He is still detained, probably sitting in a stinking, dirty prison cell with his hands and legs tied before being deported back to UK. I don’t know where his daughter, who was traveling with him, is right now. What is happening to America? Why are we closing our minds to the voices of peace? What are Muslims doing to save America from this destructive path?

Everyone else is talking about Islam and Muslims. It’s about time that Muslims started talking about saving America from the terrorism abroad and religious fanaticism at home. I invite all Muslims in America to buy airtime on radio and start talking. Their voices can
no longer go unheard.

Doesn't seem like the radio is promoted by smart people, in touch with real world.

Cat / Yusuf and his daughter both were treated nicely as per his own statement. Nobody is putting Muslims in stinking cells unless they are connected with Hum-p-A$$ terrorists.

Radio business is run by sharp brains! This doesn't seem like the case with Soundvision folks like Mr. Mujahid. Looks more like a left-wing Egyptian news outlet.

Well.... If that's the kind of trash they're going to spout off on the air, I don't think the show will generate warm and fuzzy feelings for Muslims in the non-Muslim American community.

What's next? "We condemn the beheadings but must understand the root causes that drive mujahadeen to such lengths."

This is even worse then. You mean Mr. Mujahid was spreading false rumors about America? He didn't even wait to confirm how Cat was treated. Still he was "truthful" and "trustworthy" to say it aloud that Cat was sitting in a stinky prison cell. This is disinformation and not a service for Muslim.

I have also checked out their site. It has nothing to do with Pakistan. The radio is spreading misinformation regarding Palestine, Islamic democracy, and some kind of weird Islamic economic theories.

Pakistanis better stay away from these leftie Arab mouthpieces.

How about call in and question them on their understanding.... create a positive dialogue? Why not recognize when untruths are drumbed up as Islamic/Muslim truths and question them. This is part of the Jihad for a Muslim. We must stand up to our own before we stand up to the non-Muslims. There are a lot of very knowledgable people amongst us. I hope that they will rise up to the occasion and correct the faults. They had better for our lives are at stake. It has been the quietness of these knowledgable people that's been the reason for what's happening to the Muslims.

Chicago is first, for better or worst. I hope others also rise up in other cities around the country.

Islam is Islam... it's not arab nor is it pakistani. Whether we want it or not... all of us have been put on the pulpit to answer for Islam. Let us then rise to the occasion. But that will only happen when we stop discussing the faith amongst ourselves and show the same knowledge and passion outside the close doors behind which majority of us like to hide. I wonder at times if it is a matter of shame to be Muslim?

No there aren’t. Even if there are a minuscule number of sane Muslims out there, they will be beheaded the moment they stand up to a Mullah. Living in Amreeka is easy. You haven’t been faced with “Blasphemy Law” in Pakistan. If a MAToo ever loose an argument with you, you would be declared anti-Mullah and promptly put in Jail. AntiOBL - Thank you for your comments. I live in America and my concern is for my home first as the Sharia demands. You have your own set of problems and you have to find resources particulare to your locale to help you stand up for Islam if you are so interested. What I am saying is regarding our situation in America and what we, Muslims in the U.S.A., have to do to be able to survive and live in our homes peacefully.

We all have a struggle we are involved with. You have a struggle you are involved in..... vis-a-vis... jihad. You have a form struggle not to struggle against the attrocities by the Muslims. I have a form to engage in dialogue with media in my community where the malign Islam and Muslims. Where does a AK47 come in during the discussion of Jihad? Those who pick up the guns and shoot the innocents whether they are Sunnis, Shia, Christians or Hindus know that they are only going to hell unless they believe that they have better understanding of Islam then the Prophet and Allah himself.

In anycase, there is no discussion between you and me. We exist in different set of circumstances. I can't convince you of my thinking and I can't understand yours. You have a responsibility there, as a Muslim under the Sharia, to ........"stop the bad and promote the good" to parapharase an ayat of the Quran... unless it's validity has been negated by the more "knowledgeable" people.

You said there are no knowledgeable people amongst us. I have found this hard to believe. On the contrary, I have seen many. Just take this board for example. Take you, for example. The thing is that most engage in deep discussions amongst themselves where it doesn't really matter what they say and talk about. The only difference will be when they begin to face the outside world. Most people on this board are so busy talking to the choir that it is actually very funny. It's like watching the people in madhouse walking around talking to themselves but they clam up when faced with non-Muslims or anti-Islamic rehtoric.

But in keeping with this thread, the intent was to announce the creation of a first Muslim radio talk show in Chicago. This need for such a media outlet has been sorely lacking in our country. This is ineed a very big news for those who have been busy responding to the media. Even they had difficulty finding knowledgable people willing to host time slots for months and weeks. I hope the best for them and hope that they become a role model for others in the U.S. to follow.

If you live in the U.S. .... no.... in Chicago then you'd be in a place to call. Not everyone's going to be calling them. Most non-Muslims would tune them out. But enough will listen to make the effort viable.

antiobl - don't be so angry for what we are trying to do. We understand that we have an environment where we can react to given our situation and circumstance without the fear of being killed by a Muslim in the name of Islam. Let us try to stand up for Islam and for ourselves. There are many, many, efforts being undertaken around the country so much so that many are truly unbelievable. We are doing the best we can and doing what's possible.
