^ For a guy who cant even spell ‘politician’, that comment about poor English is pretty rich :hehe:

So tell me, why did Musharraf need an Indian Agent to legitimize his unconstitutional actions. He is a Hindustani?

Things really must be desperate for PML (N) and Sharif brothers to save their political career. They are now foregoing all they stood against for the past ten years. Sharif brother is now even saying that APC resolution is irrelevant. What next for PML (N) and Sharif brothers?

PML-N, MQM renew contacts after ten years

After a decade-long break, Pakistan Muslim League-N renewed contacts with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement after party chief and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif formally called on Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad here on Monday.

This is the first time the PML-N has publicly distanced itself from its resolution adopted during a 2006 all-parties conference in London, which was chaired by the party chief himself, barring all political parties from making ‘any contact with MQM in future’. Political observers welcomed the development and said that although it was a meeting between the chief executive of Punjab and the representative of President Asif Ali Zardari in Sindh, it was an important step to break the deadlock between two important political parties.

In an attempt to highlight rapprochement efforts, Shahbaz and Dr Ibad stressed the need for political harmony, unity and understanding to tackle challenges confronting the nation.

In reply to a question whether the meeting could be considered a formal contact between the PML-N and the MQM, Shahbaz said: ‘Of course it is an official contact. After all, I am the president of PML-N.’ When asked to comment on the London APC resolution, he said it had become irrelevant and the main issue was how to forge unity because only national unity could overcome challenges.

When asked if there had been any telephonic contact with MQM chief Altaf Hussain, the chief minister said he had asked the Sindh governor to convey his ‘Salaam’ to Hussain, and he was hopeful that he would do it. Dr Ibad said he would ‘certainly convey Shahbaz Sharif’s Salaam’ to Hussain.

Commenting on the possibility of a meeting between Mian Nawaz Sharif and Altaf Hussain, Shahbaz said: ‘Everything is possible. Pakistan is our first priority: Parties opposing each other in the past are now partners in the coalition government.’ The governor said the Punjab chief minister was visiting Sindh in connection with wheat supply, adding that he had sanctioned a substantial quantity for the people of province. Dr Ibad said that the internal and international situation called for ‘understanding and unity over and above party politics’ and there was a consensus that the country could not afford confrontation at this point in time.

When the governor was asked if the chief minister had invited him to visit Punjab, he replied in the affirmative. Shahbaz Sharif was accompanied by Sindh Senior Minister Pir Mazharul Haq, PML-N leaders Khwaja Asif, Chaudhry Jafar Iqbal and Nadeem Kamran.

Aalsi-

When you have only two ways to go,
1. join the forces who admire sharia system in swat, which is expanding its wings,
2. join the moderate forces who resist mullahs

Shahbaz seems to realize where his future lies.

Robert, PML[N] doesnt need MQM’s help actually, its the other way around, unless you think the MQM is going to sweep the polls nationwide in the next elections. Mollah wollah has nothing to do with anything. This is just a shameful alliance. PML[N] will repeat a very BAD mistake if they associate themselves with this terrorist outfit again.

^
There is a difference between an elected party, which has been accused of some unlawful activites, vs. terrorist outfits like the following

jamat-e-islami
lashkar jhngvi
lashker toiba
tehreek nizam shariah
etc

The list I mentioned are globally recognised as terrorist or their symathesizers. They actually have published agendas for supporting anti-west and anti-liberal groups.

mqm, actually viped out jamat and other religious groups from karachi's electoral scene.
They are not even religious, so what you say has no value. The moment people don't like mqm, they will vote them out. Religious groups, on the other hand, impose themselves on you, you have no choice.

Jamat-e-Islami gets votes when they participate so they can't be equated with Lashkars of all other kinds. How did MQM wipe out Jamat (only from Urban Sindh) is a different discussion involving army/ISI.

Ok yes, Jamat gets "some" votes, may be more than Imran Khan. Its the power of vote that wiped out Jamat from Khi. Any other explanations are consipiracy theories, your personal "biased" opinions, or articles based on total or partial fabrications. Losers whine, and call "rigged election".

Yeah sure, conspiracy theories. Same conspiracy theories also say MQM planned for Jinnahpur state, right?

Anyway, JI is much bigger than what you are presenting it to be... I don't want to indulge much to their defense as I don't support JI.

Re: First contact between MQM, 'N' in a decade - Shahbaz Sharif meets Governor of Sin

Until people of Sindh (Sindh speaking ppl) abondon their love for PPP, any future PML N govt will again have to relie on MQM.

Re: First contact between MQM, 'N' in a decade - Shahbaz Sharif meets Governor of Sin

hmmm it's funny in a strange way. here every1 is condenming MQM for their LOTAPAN, which is fair and understandable, but no one is condenming those who actually fulfil MQM's desire for power & money! I mean If a prostitute is caught in bed with a very "righteous" person then it's unfair to execute the prostitute only! The "righteous" person also deserves the same punishment; infact he deserves to be punished severly than the prostitute, since prostitute is merely doing what is expected from her.

^ they all are prostitutes.

Robert bhaijan. You seem to be correct. Sharif brothers seem to realize where their future lies. The piece below from the Dawn makes interesting reading.

DAWN - Opinion; February 18, 2009

In this context and coming as it does after a long period of mutual acrimony, Monday’s meeting between Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif and Sindh governor Dr Ishratul Ibad should be seen as further proof of the fickleness of politics. Until recently, Mr Sharif’s party saw the MQM as its worst enemy. In fact, the bloody incidents of May 12, 2007 had led the Sharif brothers, their party men and allies to set in stone their aversion to the MQM at a London meeting. That the PML-N has apparently swallowed its abhorrence for the MQM can be interpreted in only one way: the Sharifs are realising that they cannot go further than their citadel in and around Lahore by antagonising everyone who is anyone in the rest of the country.
